Who doesn’t love Taco Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday? I can’t get enough! Whether it’s tacos, taco bowls, taco salads or taco seasoned meat stuffed peppers, we love it all. Most of the ready-to-buy taco seasonings have too much salt or added sugar. After trying multiple options and recommendations, I decided it was time to combine different spices I liked from various combinations and make my own. After many attempts, I have secured our household’s favorite recipe!
- 1/2 Tablespoon of chili powder (this produces a mild seasoning so use up to 1 tablespoon if you like it spicy)
- 1/4 Teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon onion powder
- 1 Teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 Teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 Teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 Teaspoon pink Himalayan salt
Mix all ingredients together. To season 1 lb. of ground meat, mix seasoning mixture together with 3/4 cup of warm water. Stir and pour the seasoned water mixture into your just browned ground meat. Bring to a boil and then turn on low and simmer until the water evaporates.
Feel free to double, triple, even quadruple the recipe and store in an airtight container for future taco seasoning needs!
